Ron La FranceChief Building OfficialRon La France is a Chief Building Official with Good City Company working in Peninsula cities. Mr. La France has over 35 years in the construction industry and has spent the last 25 years working for and with local Building Divisions. He began his career as a carpenter and general contractor before making a career change to become a Senior Building Inspector for the City of Menlo Park. Mr. La France was promoted to Building Official in 2003 and Assistant Community Development Director/Building Official in 2014. After leaving the City of Menlo Park in 2018 and prior to joining Good City Company, he worked as the Northern California Regional Operations Director for SafeBuilt.
During his tenure with the City of Menlo Park, Mr. La France oversaw Building Division's operations, budgets, and the building permitting process for development projects. Additionally, he assisted with the City's General Plan and Housing Element updates, the development of Reach Codes, the updating Building Division fees and the resolution of code enforcement issues. He oversaw the construction of the Facebook campuses, the Menlo Gateway high rise hotel and office buildings, the Station 1300 Project and several new apartment complexes. With SafeBuilt, Mr. La France was deeply involved with the development of a proprietary permit software, conversion to all digital plan review and the completion of the Hard Rock Casino in Wheatland. Mr. La France's broad experience allows him to understand all facets of the development process and enables him to work collaboratively with city departments and development applicants towards resolution of a wide range of complex construction issues. |
