Jacob BardAssistant PlannerJacob Bard joined Good City Company in July 2026 as an Assistant Planner, where he primarily supports current planning services. He supports current planning services for cities throughout Northern California.
Jacob began his planning career through internships with local government agencies, where he gained experience in historic preservation and community outreach. Prior to joining Good City, he supported and led a wide range of planning projects throughout the Bay Area. He brings experience in counter services, zoning and development reviews, Planning Commission and City Council presentations, building and design review, use permit processing, policy compliance, and zoning code updates. Jacob earned a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Planning from San Francisco State University, graduating magna cum laude and receiving recognition as a Distinguished Scholar. During his studies, he developed a strong interdisciplinary foundation in urban planning, with an emphasis on social justice, public policy, sustainability, and land use planning. He was also an active member of the university's planning community, serving as an Assistant Editor for the Urban Action Journal in 2025. |
