Emilio Flamenco is an Assistant Planner with Good City Company. Currently, most of his time is spent in the City of San Carlos providing Assistant Planner services. In this role, he provides counter and telephone service, reviews architectural drawings for Zoning Ordinance and Municipal Code conformance, conducts site inspections, evaluates projects, and prepares and presents staff reports before committees and commission.
Mr. Flamenco obtained his Master's in Urban Planning from Columbia University, where he wrote a thesis on land use and housing politics in the Bay Area. Prior to that, Mr. Flamenco graduated from U.C. Berkeley where he took extensive coursework in the city planning.
Mr. Flamenco is a peninsula native. He previously interned for the California State Senate, City of Brisbane, San Mateo County Transit District, and San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. In Brisbane, Mr. Flamenco researched, drafted, and presented the Planning Department's proposal to rezone the City's mobile home park from a commercial use to residential use to preserve affordable housing.
In his free time, Mr. Flamenco enjoys long-distance running, backpacking, and travelling.
